Scholarship 1

The Julie Patel Foundation pledged $50,000 to McMaster University. This gift has been matched by McMaster University for a total Endowment Fund of $100,000. The income earned will generate bursaries/scholarships of $4,000 annually in perpetuity. This commitment by the Foundation has been completely fulfilled. The scholarship, named The Julie Patel Foundation Award will be disbursed annually to one or more students enrolled in an Arts & Science program who has attained a high academic average and demonstrated financial need. This scholarship was first awarded in 2021-2022 academic year.

Scholarship 2

The Julie Patel Foundation pledged $50,000 to the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University. This gift will be matched by the University for a total Endowment Fund of $100,000. The income earned will generate bursaries/scholarships of $4,000 annually in perpetuity, named The Julie Patel Foundation Award. The award will be disbursed annually to one or more students enrolled in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine who has attained a high academic average and demonstrates financial need. The Foundation and McMaster University have disbursed this award annually since 2021 with additional annual pledges from the Foundation until the fund reaches its target, which is anticipated in the next 2 to 4 years.
