In April 2023 the JPF held a raffle to recognize donors. The draw was divided into categories based on the amount donated. The categories were up to $999, $1000-$2999, $3000-$499 and $5000 or more. Winners were randomly selected and prizes valued at $3,550 was distributed.
All prized were donated by the Patel family. No donations were used to fund any of the prizes. Donors gave permission to add their names to the lottery draw. Patel family members and members of the Julie Patel Foundation Board were excluded form the raffle.
There were 10 winners the first category each of whom received a $50 gift certificate to the LCBO or Starbucks.
For the $1,000 – $2,999 category there were 8 winners selected each of whom received a $100 gift certificate to the Keg restaurant.
There were two winners selected for the $3,000 – $4,999 category. One winner received a $200 gift certificate to the Keg restaurant and the other a ceramic polar bear sculpture valued at $200.
For those donating more than $5,000 there were 3 winners selected. The prizes were a David Arathoon oil painting valued at $1,000, a $200 Keg restaurant and a $50 LCBO gift certificate and a $200 Keg restaurant certificate.
In addition, two individuals who have contributed in-kind services were recognized with a $200 Keg restaurant gift certificate.
