In 2019, the Julie Patel Foundation hosted a laid-back, feel-good evening that brought people together over two of life’s great pleasures—wine and cheese. Our Wine & Cheese Soirée was a cozy, intimate event filled with laughter, great conversations, and a shared passion for making a difference. It was held at Function Bar, an uptown music venue and kitchen at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto.

Guests enjoyed an oyster bar, a delicious selection of local wines and handpicked cheeses, perfectly paired to please every palate. There was a warm vibe, and a chance to connect with others who care deeply about giving back and lifting students in financial need at post secondary institutions across the province and beyond.

Guests were celebrated and thanked with several door and raffle prizes.

It wasn’t just about the food and drinks—it was about coming together to support the Foundation’s mission and spark real change. Thanks to everyone who joined us, the night was not only fun but meaningful, helping raise both funds and awareness for the work we do.

All costs except for the venue rental and staff were donated by the Patel family. After settling the venue and staff costs $4,600 was raised for the Julie Patel Foundation.

We’re still smiling about that evening—and we can’t wait to do it again.
